The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering headed by Dr. S. Prakash who is a Doctorate from IISc, Bangalore and an Anna University recognized Ph.D supervisor in Electronics and Communication Engineering.
He has authored / co-authored research papers in nine leading international Journals. And presented research paper in International Conference in India and aboard. He guided 2 master degrees and 1 on-going Ph.D degree.

The Technical Association of the Department “Chip-2K” is engaged in various technical and social activities.
The department has established an ‘Activity Centre to enable the students to have a hand-on experience and better practical vision on upcoming trends in Electronics and Communication. The inauguration of “IETE Students Chapter” was held on 24.01.08 with more than 240 students enrolling as members. The Department has signed MOU both with Government & Private organization in the field of Electronics and Communication.
Electronics and Communication Engineering shares the mission and vision of the institute in imparting high quality education to the students who will perceive the Electronics and Communication fundamentals and fulfill the requirements of the syllabus prescribed by the University.
Our students are the winner in the Anna University Zonal Tournaments for the year 2009 – 2010.
Our students have been selected to do their final year Project work at DRDO, ISRO, LRDE and IGCAR.
